Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal information The IT Tech collects, why we need it and how we look after it.

Last updated:

Third Party Software

We use a small number of trusted third-party services to run the business. ServiceM8 handles job management, bookings and invoicing. Stripe processes card payments, and we never see or store your full card details.

This website is hosted on Vercel. Its content is managed in Sanity, and messages sent through the contact form are delivered to us by Resend. The website does not set cookies for tracking or advertising.

Personal Information

When you book a visit, make an enquiry or become a customer, we may collect your name, address, phone number, email address and details of the work you have asked us to do. If we work on your device we may also need temporary access to it, including any accounts or passwords you choose to give us.

Why we need your information and how we use it

We use your information to:

  • Arrange and carry out visits, repairs and support.
  • Contact you about your booking, quotes and invoices.
  • Keep a record of the work we have done so we can help you again in future.
  • Meet our legal and accounting obligations.

We do not use your information for marketing unless you have asked us to keep in touch, and you can change your mind at any time.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We only share it with the service providers named above so they can do their job for us, or where we are required to by law. Any passwords or account details you give us are used only for the work you have asked for and are removed from our records afterwards.

Data Retention

We keep job records, invoices and related contact details for approximately 6 years, in line with UK accounting requirements. Contact form messages are kept only for as long as we need them to reply to you and deal with your enquiry.

Transfer of personal information outside of the EU

Some of the services we use may store data on servers outside the UK and the European Union. Where that happens, the provider is required to protect your information to a standard equivalent to UK data protection law.

Your Rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete your information where we no longer need it.
  • Object to, or ask us to limit, how we use your information.
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office if you are unhappy with how we have handled your data.

How to contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or the information we hold about you, email hello@theittech.co.uk or call 01522 396081. We will be happy to help.
